Who we are

Chibiyo is a sole proprietorship based in Québec, Canada. We make custom 3D chibi figurines of pets from photos sent by our customers. Website: chibiyo.com. Email: info@chibiyo.com.

Person in charge of personal information

The person in charge of protecting personal information (Québec Law 25) is the owner of Chibiyo. You can reach them at info@chibiyo.com.

What we collect

  • Your pet's photos, which you upload to create your figurine or your preview.
  • Order information: name, email, shipping address, phone number (if provided), and order details.
  • Payment information: payments are processed by Shopify and its payment providers. We do not see or store your full card number.
  • Your email, if you give it while creating your free chibi image (optional on the first try).
  • Messages you send us (for example, your preview feedback).
  • Technical data collected automatically by our store platform (Shopify), such as cookies, device and browser information.

Why we use it

  • To create your figurine: generate the 3D model, send you the preview, and print it.
  • To process your payment, ship your order, and send you tracking.
  • To answer your questions and handle refunds or replacements.
  • To run and secure our store.

Your pet's photos

  • Your photos are used only to create your figurine (and the preview of it).
  • We never publish your photos or your figurine without your separate and explicit consent. Buying a figurine does not count as that consent.
  • Your photos are stored in Canada (Supabase, ca-central-1 region).
  • We delete your photos about 30 days after your figurine is delivered. If you requested a preview but did not order, we delete them about 30 days after your request.

Email and newsletter

  • If you give us your email, we use it to send you the chibi image you asked for and to reply to you about it. We also use it to prevent abuse (2 images per email per day).
  • Newsletter: only if you tick the box (unticked by default) and confirm your email through the link we send. We keep the date and wording of your consent. To unsubscribe, use the one-click link at the bottom of any of our emails, or write to info@chibiyo.com.
  • Waiting list: before we open, you can leave your email (and your pet's species) to be told when we open. We write to you at opening, then rarely; one-click unsubscribe.
  • Security: the creation form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots. This service may process technical data about your connection (IP address, browser) outside Québec.

Artificial intelligence tools

Our 3D models are generated with the help of artificial intelligence tools (Google Gemini and Meshy), then checked by a human before printing. Your photos are sent to Google Gemini (paid service, no data retention) only to draw your chibi image, with location data (EXIF/GPS) removed. Meshy only receives the chibi image, never your photos, to build the 3D model. These providers may process this data outside Québec and Canada.

Who we share information with

We share your information only with the service providers we need to run the store:

  • Shopify (store, checkout, payments);
  • Supabase (photo storage in Canada);
  • Google Gemini and Meshy (3D model generation);
  • Resend (sending emails; servers in the United States);
  • Cloudflare (bot protection);
  • Google Analytics (visit statistics, only if you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner; no name, email or address is sent);
  • Shipping carriers (delivery of your order).

Shopify, Resend, Google, Meshy and Cloudflare may process this information outside Québec.

We do not sell your personal information.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct it if it is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete it, including your photos.

Write to info@chibiyo.com. We will reply as soon as possible and within the time required by law. We may ask you to confirm your identity.

How long we keep information

  • Photos: about 30 days, as described above.
  • Order and payment records: as long as needed for the order and as required by tax and accounting laws.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including restricted access to stored photos. No system is perfectly secure; if an incident puts your information at risk, we will notify you and the authorities as required by law.

To limit abuse of the free chibi image, the creation page stores a random device identifier in your browser (local storage and a cookie kept up to 1 year); our server only keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of it. When you choose your first photo, the pet detector is downloaded from jsDelivr and Google Cloud Storage, which receive your IP address; the detection itself runs in your browser, and your photo is not sent to them.
